On 18th May 2002, Ye Peida, senior academician of China Academy of Engineering and expert of optical communication of national renown, and Jiang Zhizhong, advisor to president of Beijing Postal University, came to inspect Futong Group. Ye's wife and Jiang's wife came together with their husbands. Accompanied by engineer-in-chief Yang Quancang of Futong Group and FSO vice general manager Sun Yiyan, the guests visited the facilities for making optical fiber prefabricated rod, optical fiber and optical cable and optical devices.

While examining the production process of the optical source-free devices, Ye pointed out that the tunable optical attenuators should be developed. While inspecting the optical rods, he stressed the importance of large investment, high output, talent recruitment, cost cuts. He said it is important to learn the most sophisticated and most advanced technology through joint ventures with foreign companies. He observed that Want Jianyi was a pioneer in China's optical fiber filed. He wrote an inscription for Futong Group: "Keep breaking into new grounds and be creative to move forward together with time." This inscription expresses the expectations from the experts of older generations.

Professor Jiang Zhizhong wishes to see that Futong expand the business steadily and rapidly.
